Some employees falsely claim to be injured on the job when, in fact, the injury occurred outside the workplace. At other times, a real injury is exaggerated, and the employee receives benefits he or she may not deserve while also sometimes working a second job. Surveillance of the Claimant is provided by Hyperion Risk in order to document and videotape the Claimant’s daily activities and abilities and to determine if these activities and abilities are consistent with the claim or the Claimant’s reported injury. As part of the surveillance report, you will receive a detailed description of the Claimant, a detailed description of the residence and surrounding area, a detailed report of the Claimant’s activities and impairments, if any, observed during the surveillance period. All of the Claimant’s activities, within the legal limits of state statutes, will be documented on videotape when possible. As part of our surveillance package, we will also conduct a Neighborhood Inquiry / Activity Check, if the Claimant is not observed outside his/her residence.
